The Dayak Tribe of Borneo

Dayak tribe in Indonesia


The Dayak tribe are the indigenous inhabitants of the island of Borneo, Indonesia. At present the Dayak tribe has a lot of modern life and living in the city. Others live in rural, mountain and river.

Dayak tribe has a meaning as a man of courageous and unyielding. Dayak tribe has many unique traditional arts. Tribal power is divided into four major sub-ethnic and a small sub-ethnic, ie,

1.Kendayan / Kanayatn Grop
2.Ribunic / Jangkang Grop
3.Iban / Ibanic
4.Banuaka Grop
5.Kayaanik, punan, bukat, and others.


Dayak communities still hold firm beliefs dynamism, they believe each of these places there are certain ruler, which they call Jubata, Petara, Ala Taala, Penompa and others, for God's highest designation, then they still have other authorities under the power of God highest, for example, Puyang Gana (Dayak mualang) is the ruler of the land, King Juata (ruler of Water), Kama Baba (Army ruler), Jobata, Apet Kuyan'gh (Dayak Mali) and others.

For those who still adhere to its dynamism and confidence in its original culture, they separate themselves deeper into the forest, mount and river.


  




 

They have a very good behavior in everyday life. The Dayak tribe is the pride of all the nation Indonesia.
